I hope you enjoy this pattern for a crochet sunflower vest made out of granny squares :)

Body Circumference: 40 in/102 cm

Stitches used:

sl : slip stitch
ch : chain

tc : treble (triple) crochet
cluster stitch
puff stitch

Assembly

Once you have all of your granny squares made, it's time to assemble. I assembled them as shown below, sewing the squares together and then sewing the sides together (connect the colored lines together). Feel free to modify if you would prefer a different shape. Be sure to weave in all end securely once you are finished.

Ribbing

The final step is ribbing. I chose to use the color at the center of my sunflower but feel free to mix it up based on your preference. The ribbing is done working in back loops only (BLO)

Arm ribbing:

Connect somewhere on the arm.

Ch 5, turn

Working in BLO, sc down the chain, connect to the next stitch on the arm with a sl, turn
(4 stitches)

Working in BLO, sc up the chain, sc, turn

Repeat until you have gone all the way around the arm.

Body ribbing:

Connect somewhere on the bottom of the body.
Ch 8, turn

Working in BLO, sc down the chain, connect to the next stitch on the body with a sl, turn
(7 stitches)

Working in BLO, sc up the chain, sc, turn

Repeat until you have gone all the way around the body

Neck ribbing:

Connect somewhere on the neck.
Ch 3, turn

Working in BLO, sc down the chain, connect to the next stitch on the neck with a sl, turn
(2 stitches)

Working in BLO, sc up the chain, sc, turn

Repeat until you have gone all the way around the neck

Congratulations! You finished. Make sure all ends are woven in.
